The Spring 2025 Master Naturalist class is now full. Please email Polly Sturgeon at proot@iu.edu to be placed on a waitlist.
Classes will be offered on Friday afternoons from 3:00-6:00 pm, March 28 through May 16, plus Saturday field trips on April 12, April 26, and May 3. The current schedule is (dates and topics subject to change):
- March 28- Natural Resources
- April 4- Rocks and Fossils
- April 11- Glacial History
- April 12- Field trip: Birds at Lake Monroe
- April 18- Soils
- April 25- Water Quality
- April 26- Field trip: Hoosier Riverwatch at Campus River
- May 2- Native plants
- May 3- Field trip: Trees at IU Research and Teaching Preserve
- May 9- Animal skeletons
- May 16- Mushrooms and final exam
Participants must attend at least 8 of the 11 class sessions, complete weekly exams, and accumulate at least 24 volunteer hours to obtain Indiana Master Naturalist Certification and a pin.
