The Spring 2026 Indiana Master Naturalist class is now full. Please email Polly Sturgeon to be placed on a waitlist.
Classes will be offered on Friday afternoons from 3:00-6:00 pm, March 20 through May 15, plus Saturday field trips on April 18, April 25, and May 2. The current schedule is (dates and topics subject to change):
- March 20- IMN introduction and Natural Resources
- March 27- Rocks and fossils
- April 3- Glacial history
- April 10- Soils
- April 17- Water quality
- April 18- Field trip: Hoosier Riverwatch at Campus River
- April 24- Native plants
- April 25- Field trip: Trees at IU Research and Teaching Preserve
- May 1- Reptiles and amphibians
- May 2- Field trip: Birds at Yellowwood Lake
- May 8- Mushrooms or Caving safety
- May 15- Final Exam
Participants must attend at least 8 of the 11 class sessions, complete weekly exams, and accumulate at least 24 volunteer hours to obtain Indiana Master Naturalist Certification and a pin.
